HonestAsk solves the friction of traditional nonprofits and crowdfunding. Many charge fees, raising the question of how much of the gift actually reaches the person who needs it. But what about socials? Socials often gate-keep simple "Fund Me" buttons, and major platforms are too step-intensive. We cut the red tape. 01. What is HonestAsk.co?
A simple way to get and give kindness with the actual people who need it. We bypass the red tape of traditional non-profit and crowdfunding to enable direct, human-to-human micro-giving. Run by a small team in Atlanta, GA, our platform relies on real human review instead of cold algorithms, cause we can’t afford them — and we believe in real human contact.02. What is the mission?
Traditional platforms make individuals jump through endless red tape. We provide a direct bridge. We are curious about generosity — whether people actually want to offer a boost to someone asking for help. We want giving to be more transparent, personal, and simple.03. Where does the money go?
100% direct. Sometimes we call donors Angels cause getting a boost is heavenly. An Angel pledges an amount ($3, $9, or $25), then pays the Asker directly on their personal CashApp or Venmo. Because we're low-tech, that final step runs on trust — we track the pledge amount, but we can't confirm the payment itself. We may follow up with Askers to see how their campaign is going, so we can understand and improve follow-through over time. We take a 0% platform fee and never touch funds. We simply build and maintain the secure digital bridge to real people who have an honest ask.04. Is this secure and safe?
Yes. To protect our community, every single Asker is checked by a real team member — we confirm their identity and their story before their entry is published. We handle the vetting so you can give with confidence. Askers are also vetted by either CashApp or Venmo, so you might even consider Askers double-vetted!05. Want to submit an Ask?
If you need a financial boost, our submission process takes minutes.
1. Record: Create a 30-second video explaining your situation.
2. Submit: Provide your story, your specific payment handle, and your requested amount ($2,000 maximum cap).

About Us.

Back in the late 1970s, she was full of life and loved a good laugh. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis and spent the next 30+ years bedridden. Toward the end, she struggled to raise a single finger.But Diane never let her world get small. Her entire window to the world was on her phone, and from her bed, she used it to quietly help others—secretly funding trips for families to see each other, helping out immigrants, and gifting people things they didn't even know they needed.Diane fiercely believed that life is competitive, but there are more than enough resources in this world for everyone. She believed that to get what you need, you just have to be honest with where you are at, and ask the right person in the right way.Before she passed away, she handed me a gift that became the seed for this platform.In spirit of Auntie Diane — we are building HonestAsk.co — a peer-to-peer experiment in human kindness and generosity. It’s a place where everyday people can upload an honest short video pitch about a real need—and get supported directly by their community via Venmo’s or CashApp, with zero platform fees and no viral follower minimums.We take the guesswork out of your generosity by ensuring every story featured comes from a vetted soul who is being completely honest about where they’re at.Please excuse our low tech approach to app building.
